Welcome to the team Izzy!
Isabel Matthews joined us in September, as our new Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice, in conjuntion with Kendal College.
Izzy is the third apprentice at BDS Fuels that we have put through this apprenticeship with Kendal College, a fabulous partnership.
We wish Izzy all the best with her apprenticeship and future career with us.
It was fanastic to read over the weekend that one of our customers Lindeth Fell Country House was voted to have one of Britains loveliest hotel gardens.
Lindeth Fell Country House are supplied by BDS Fuels for both their LPG and biomass wood pellets. A great example where to systems can work fanastically well together.

Here at BDS Fuels we wish you all a very Happy Easter.

The Emergency only telephone line will still be manned whilst the office is closed. 015242 76575.
Finally, we are seeing some lovely weather, the sun is shining!
However, it is still cold out there and we are busy out delivering to our LPG and wood pellet customers to ensure that we can keep you warm.
There are no national shortages of LPG, despite the reports that are coming in from the national supplier.
BDS Fuels, as an independent distributor of LPG and wood pellets, are able to manage getting fuel to our customers in a much more friendly and efficient way. Our customer service is one of the many reasons why our customers remain loyal.
If you are looking for a new supplier, give us a call today on 015242 76575 or email teamsales@bdsfuels.co.uk to find out more.
BDS Fuels not only supply LPG to domestic properties, but also to commercial properties, and service stations as well.
We are really proud to say we supply to the UK's second and third best services stations in the UK, both owned by the Westmorland Family Group. They also own the top service station at Gloucester too. This is a massive achievement for them, and we are proud to be associated and supply the group.

From us all here at BDS Fuels, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Here at BDS Fuels, we have guidelines about not criticizing or calling out our competitors within the industry, but recently, so many of our new customers have told us such similar stories, that we thought it might be well worth sharing one of them with you.
“You were not quite the cheapest quote we had. However, being able to pick up the phone and talk to someone in person without being kept on hold for ever and ever is invaluable and worth every penny or two extra that we pay for our gas.
The time I have spent trying to get through to our old supplier to find out when our order is going to be processed is time I could have been using for doing something much more useful. In addition, the anxiety that is caused by not knowing how or when our next delivery will be made is extremely stressful. Especially in the depths of winter when we can’t be sure our gas will last long enough before we run out.
Ringing up and getting an answer straight away from someone who can deal with my enquiry is well worth the little extra a year it may cost for my gas supply. It’s great value for money and the people in the BDS office are so helpful.”
Well done Brenda! Not only has she passed her apprenticeship Level 3 Business Administration with Kendal College and BDS Fuels with a distinction - she also won an award for Apprentice of the Year. This is a massive achievement.

Brenda Luffman (pictured left) collected her award along with Angela Cox (pictured right) who mentored Brenda throughout.
We couldn't be prouder!
Michael Smith our founder started selling gas cylinders in April 1983 when he was made redundant . . . some 40 years later we are here as BDS Fuels & Biomass offering local delivery throughout Cumbria, North Lancashire, North Yorkshire and the South West Scottish Borders, its great to be part of an amazing group of dedicated people who strive to bring you great service & value, here's to another 40 years.
Following a long and complicated audit back in late January, we had confirmation that we have passed our annual ENplus audit.
We passed with flying colours - we received no advisories, comments or failures. This was excellent news to us as the ENplus standards changed in 2022 and were much more stringent and higher requirements.
We were even more pleased to hear that we were the only pellet trader so far to fully pass.
Well done team BDS Biomass!
You may remember us telling you back in September 2021, of our two apprentices that just started with us. Both based out of Kendal College.
Well, 'Our lass' Brenda Luffman has just completed her Level 3 Business Administrator course, and she only passed with a Distinction!
We are so proud of her, and in fact, have made her a permanent employee.
BDS Fuels and BDS Biomass are keen to support local events, charities and sports clubs.
We were approached by The Tri-Counties Tigers to see if we would be interested in sponsoring the new team and their kit and we were keen to get involved.
We supply KLRUFC with LPG to run their club house, an employees child plays for North Ribblesdale Minis & Juniors, and finally an employee and his son play for Penrith RUFC. So how could we say no to helping the girls team.

There are National news stories being published about gas shortages, and customers from large National LPG companies letting their customers run out of LPG.
That is not the case here are at BDS Fuels! Supplies were tight and weather wasn't great in the run up to Christmas, but we made sure that we got to each and every customer.
Even through January and the start of February, the big three companies, are still experiencing issues.
Please call us if you are experiencing issues with your current supplier, and we will see if we are able to help.
To quote the MD:

The office team are always on hand to support the driving team and site maintenance. We also have Angela Cox, Sian Hatfield, Brenda Luffman, Faye Waters and Amy Deighton (not pictured) working hard in the background to ensure that the business runs smoothly.

A safety warning was issued this week by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) (part of BEIS) on the use of gas grills on certain Belling, Stoves and New World gas range cookers manufactured by Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA).
If the gas grill is used with the door closed there is a risk that dangerous levels of carbon monoxide can build up, posing a risk of serious injury or death to those within the immediate environment.
More information is available in the full warning statement and there is also a press release.

We have had a few LPG customers ask if the Energy Bills Support is applicable to their accounts with BDS Fuels.
The support that is being offered by the Government is applicable to mains gas and therefore, not applicable to LPG supplies.
Please be assured we are doing all we can as a business to reduce our costs, and minimise the price increases to our customers.
